Photograph Negative Space

So I'm not totally in complete understanding of Negative Space, but the example on the card mentions photograph the space around your object.  So - here's what I got:

Shot with my phone. No filter - I liked the lighting.  The hole in the trunk is the subject, the negative space around it.
