High Contrast Lighting

Ok - so unfortunately it seems this deck may be more geared for things I'd set up myself. For instance - I drew "Bowl of water with something next to it". I gave myself a pass and drew another one. Got High Contrast lighting. I almost put it back, but thought no....I need to do this.

No. No I don't.

My goal is to pull a card and be inspired to look for these sorts of things whilst in my every day life. Trying to help my eye see the creative.

I do like the idea of setting up shots, but that's not what I was searching for. Not right now anyway.

So - I held on to High Contrast Lighting for a few weeks (I'm also not sticking to the weekly anymore) and thought - you know what?! It's ok! I'm literally doing this by myself. There's no rules.

So here's the 1 high contrast lighting shot I got in 3 weeks that wasn't something I set up and I'm now going to draw cards until I get something that I can work into every day life.

Let's see what the next draw brings...

Insects...

Ok ew - but let's get creative shall we?

Oooooo Spiderwebs in the early morning are fun!

And snails are kinda cute!

Rascal trying to eat an ant

I actually kept this card for 2 weeks hoping to find some more ways to photograph but with our awful winds and just no damn butterflies or bees it seem, I just gave up on this one.

I did get a few.

On to the next.

BLUE

So I know this is mixed in amongst my Photo a Week(s) Cards but Noel, Renee and I did a "Color Quest" one day. We hit up the OC Circle about 10am and Renee did a little generator thing and assigned us colors!

I'm really trying to get creativity back into my life in any way I can find. I really enjoyed just walking around an area I'm familiar with looking at it differently because I was searching for a color.

I got blue!

Here's my grid!

And the rest of the photos below are all the "Blue" I found!

Kind of love the house, dumpster and sky - all various blues

I'm such a fan of cool doors

Old Wood

Although I did pretty good this week, but I feel like it was an easier one and I was going somewhere where I did get a lot of pics, I may push these to 2 weeks apart if I'm struggling finding subjects. I realized I work M-F...so I'm basically in the same spot, so I may not get chances. So we'll see. Or I'll just extend however long I feel...not sure...still kind of figuring out this project.

Anywhoo!

OLD WOOD!

I was excited for this one and am happy with some of my shots!

As soon as I pulled the card, I thought my busted up planter would be perfect!

Love Pat and Rascal in the distance

I'm always going to love depth of field

Wish I could have got closer, but it had cameras and may have disturbed people

Clean vs Dirty

Wasn't thrilled with my 1st draw.

I almost put it back.

But then the Universe was like "NO". And the quote that happened to be in my daily gratitude journal THAT VERY DAY was:

It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see.
- Henry David Thoreau

Noted.

DIRTY: I found the design of the leaves looking like something was crawling out of the gutter.

DIRTY: The winds sure love to pile things up

DIRTY: Guess the park was busy that weekend

CLEAN: The chonky Princess cleaning herself

CLEAN: Because what purrrrfect way to represent Clean!

CLEAN: This car was dope - and clean!

First week of my little challenge for myself completed. Didn't get nearly enough pictures as I would have liked, but I think that was a combination of really struggling with "Clean vs Dirty" and also being sick most the week so actually not out and about as much as I normally would have.

Pulled my new card for the new week, so let's see where this goes!

Def happy to be finding away to get some damn creativity back into my life!

NEW PROJECT ALERT

I'm antsy.

I am doing NOTHING creative lately.

I'm struggling to get my little adventure group to do anything.

I finally decided - "Jami - just fucking do SOMETHING!"

Pat bought me a deck of photo cards last year when I was whining I lost my previous deck. They've been staring at me forever now. Was hoping to get the group to do something, but finally have decided to do this myself.

I'm hoping this will help me get motivated and inspired or at least just doing something Creative.

I always work better with a guide of some sort and these will be it.

I have no idea if I'll create something else with these, or what will come of them. But for now - I have this Photo Blog - why not post them here.

So here we go.

I have an alarm set on my phone for Sunday mornings to draw a card. For that week I will photograph whatever that card assigns me. (Obvi pausing for weeks of travel, or something of the like)

I drew my 1st card this week!

I'll then post the pictures I take in a separate blog each week!

LET'S DO THIS!
